My absolute favorite actress in the world, the beautiful and extraordinarily talented Cate Blanchett, has confirmed that her recent somewhat odd (for her) fashion choices are because she’s pregnant with her third child!
The Sydney Morning Herald reports:
Cate Blanchett revealed during a glamorous red carpet appearance in Sydney last night that she is expecting her third child.
Wearing a pink dress that was draped in bright orange organza, Blanchett said she was in the early stages of pregnancy.
When asked if she was expecting, the Oscar winner beamed and said: “Yes, I am.” The mother of two boys shook her head at rumours that it was a boy, saying: “You know more than me. It’s early days yet. It’s due in April.”
Andrew and Cate already have two sons, Dashiell and Roman.
Oh, congratulations Cate!! You sound absolutely overjoyed, you still look radiant (although… empire waists, my dear. I know tent dresses are a big thing right now, and if you want to go cocktail length to do it that’s fine by me, but empire waists will be your best friend. You’re far too pretty to go the big-baggy route for this one, I beg you!), and you’re, like, four months away from winning a Best Actress Oscar that I — and, I’m sure, many others — will celebrate along with you in our living rooms with lots of shouting and dancing and screaming and champagne.
Sorry, did I tangent there? In case it’s been too long since I (or anyone else) reminded you, Cate starts as one of eight Bob Dylans in Todd Haynes’ “I’m Not There” (out November 21, that crazy girl you see at the front of the line is me). I think she’ll win Best Actress for sure (read: I will set Hollywood on fire if she doesn’t) (Not really. No police investigation necessary, swear) (I’ll just burn it in effigy), and I would be duly delighted if the Best Actor and Best Actress Oscars went to two Bob Dylans. That would be amazing.
